Product Description
Attractively housed in reinforced stainless steel, this 1800-watt convection toaster oven features a 4/5-cubic-foot nonstick
interior and Element IQ technology, which provides smarter control over the heat. Choose from nine pre-set
functions: Toast, Bagel, Bake, Roast, Broil, Pizza, Cookies, Reheat, or Warm; each one comes with its own
pre-programmed temperature and cooking time, eliminating the guesswork. The unit's broil function activates just
the top heating elements to melt and brown food; its toast function activates the top and bottom heating elements
to seal and crisp; and the bake function uses both the top and bottom heating elements, as well as the convection
fan, to ensure thorough cooking, inside and out.
Instead of the oven's five quartz heating elements having a fixed wattage,
however, Element IQ functions much like a dimmer on a light switch, increasing or decreasing the power with a
simple turn of the knob. The time and temperature for the pre-set programs can easily be adjusted to accommodate
individual preferences--the oven will even remember the new settings for next time.
Thoughtfully designed, the oven's push-button and turn-knob control panel, as
well as its blue back-lit LCD screen, makes it effortless to operate the unit and to see the current function,
temperature, and adjusts made. Other highlights include fast heat-up times, energy-efficient operation, three rack
positions, a wire rack that ejects automatically halfway out of the oven for safe removal of hot items, an embossed
and ribbed top surface that can be used as a warming tray, and a front-access removable crumb tray for quick
cleanup. Combining durable materials and powerful performance with a strikingly modern design, users will want to
leave the oven out on display and conveniently accessible for everyday use. Accessories include a 13-inch non-stick
pizza pan, a 12-by-12-inch enamel baking pan, and a 12-by-12-inch enamel broil rack. The oven measures 18-1/2 by
12-1/2 by 10-3/4 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.
Customer Reviews
I've used it for 3 days now and am a complete fan. I wasted a day because I took the time to read the manual
& it scares you by repeating on every page to NOT use foil. I already suffer from being a worry wart but
decided this time to disregard the warnings & use my common sense. I would say...just don't cover the elements
with foil. But who does that, anyway?
This oven is really wonderful. Tonight I used it to reheat the quiche I made last night (in the oven) & it
reheated perfectly; unlike other times in other ovens, where it turns out to be a guessing game. An interior light
would be perfect. That's the only down side for me.
As with other appliances I have purchased thru Amazon, the reviews are a great help & often enough, help
make the sale. Thanks to all those who take the time to review.
I got this Breville Smart Oven for a Xmas present & am sold on it 100 percent. It IS a smart oven.
Five stars.
Well, I've used my oven for a full year now & wish I could give it 10 stars! Just the reheat function alone
would sell this for me. I have never before reheated a leftover dish that came out still moist when it should be or
crisp when it should be. Wow!
Actually, I do cook from scratch most of the time. I realize that the way I rave about the reheat button that I
sound as though we exist on just leftovers...but well, all of the functions are excellent.
This was the smartest & best purchase I made last year.
This compact oven is wonderful. I am surprised this kind of technology hasn't already been out for a while. The
top and bottom heating elements are microprocessor controlled to optimally cook different kinds of foods. It can
switch from bottom to top heat and vise versa to heat your food as required. Cakes need to be cooked thru out which
is different than pizza which needs a crispy crust but not burnt cheese.
The auto programs all seem to be well tested and perform wonderfully. Even chicken and meats cook thru. Frozen
items also cook well. It seems a great deal of time testing this unit was done before releasing it for sale. Even
re-heating foods works well. This is the best toaster oven I have ever owned!
It is well made. It is heavy and seems like it will last a long time. The door opens smoothly and the interior
is easy reach in and clean. The controls are intuitive and well designed. The entire unit is easy to clean even
after preparing a feast and getting ingredients all over the knobs. The kids even like using it.
I would say for the price that this is a real deal. I can't really say there are any negatives about this unit
because it is so far ahead of what I have owned in the past.
First of all, yes, it's expensive. But it is well-built and does absolutely everything it advertises. It's very
sophisticated, yet simple to use. Controls are intuitive and easy to understand. I didn't even need to read the
owner's manual to use the oven first time, although there's some very good information in there. Second, to the
person who gave it 1 star because "you can't use foil or glassware in the oven", that is totally wrong. The manual
clearly says you can use OVEN SAFE glass baking dishes, and foil too, so long as it doesn't touch the heating
elements. Third, yes, external surfaces and the door get hot during use. I've never seen a toaster oven that
doesn't get hot. Some are far worse than this one (EuroPro, Oster). Fourth, to the person who commented that the
supplied baking pans are "flimsy, and curl up during baking", I did not have this experience. I think the baking
pans are very heavy and durable. The broiling pan is as solid as the one that came with my full-size Kenmore Elite
range! Fifth, everything I've baked so far has come out perfectly cooked -- so that's the true value of the oven,
in my opinion.
